Zero cost websites?
"We need to redo our website, but we don’t have any budget"
You wouldn't believe how many times we've heard that. It's obviously a big issue though, so we've been trying to think of ways in which we might be able to help.
First let's start with a simple ground rule: All work DOES have to be paid for, one way or another. We're not a charity. But we can be incredibly flexible with our payment terms.
One way, for example, is that we can stagger the new website's development across your financial year end. This means that you can pay half of the cost from one financial year, and the remainder from the following year. We've phased our invoicing like this many times with various clients, both big and small.
But even that might not be enough for some companies – especially those subject to a cap on new capital expenditure (yes, despite being an intangible thing, many finance departments will class a new website as CapEx). For these companies we can offer the initial website build for free – well, free-ish. We simply bump up the monthly hosting and maintenance charges so that the website build costs are gradually paid off over a number of years. This way the costs will be seen as an ongoing marketing expense, rather than a significant CapEx purchase.
These are just a couple of options, but the key to our offering is total flexibility. We can tailor a contract and payment scheme to suit your company's individual circumstances. And this works for any size website, from a little micro-site for a few thousand to a massive e-commerce site costing hundreds of thousands of pounds.
